Although we don’t recommend a lengthy stay, Maputo is well worth a stop-over on your way to other exceptional Mozambican destinations. Explore the fort of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, wander through vibrant markets, and enjoy the many restaurants and bars where you can sample local seafood and beer.
From Maputo, set sail for Inhaca Island, a small gem just off the coast. Easily accessible by boat or ferry, Inhaca is a popular destination for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. The island is also a favoured port of call for yachts, sailing boats, and cruise ships seeking a tropical stopover. Like all of Mozambique’s islands, Inhaca boasts lush vegetation, excellent beaches, warm tropical waters, and spectacular coral reefs.
